Chefs Academy

The Kylemore Chefs Academy was introduced late in 2007 in conjunction with Failte Ireland.  This training initiative has proven to be one of the big successes of 2007 amongst staff members.  Due to the high demand and lack of experience in the chef population, and to ensure that Kylemore have a constant pipeline of talent to fulfill its future growth plans, Kylemore have partnered with Failte Ireland to offer our staff an opportunity to partake in a 6-month intensive culinary skills programme.  Employees commence with an off –the-job training phase in a Failte Ireland development centre, learning the skills and knowledge that will be further developed with Kylemore coaches in the work place.

At the end of the six months, successful employees achieve a competency based FETAC level five national qualification, which is recognised throughout the catering industry.  We currently have six employees on the course and aim to have a further ten start the course in May 2008. 

This is one of the many training and development opportunities Kylemore has to offer its employees and our aim is to be seen as an employer of choice, within the catering industry.
