 Environmental Policy

It is apparent from visiting IGB that development and forward thinking is a key part of what you do. It is important therefore to note that one of the over-riding goals of Kylemore is to achieve best practice with regard to environmental practices. As we continue to grow our business we will persist in building on the environmental initiatives that we have already put in place. These initiatives include the following;

Fresh food
Kylemore endeavour to use fresh local produce

  • Environmental awareness training for all staff
  • The use of temperature regulators
  • Use of only non harmful refrigerator gases
  • Use of the dishwasher only when full
  • All equipment used is classified as Energy Efficient
  • Supplier selection includes requirement to demonstrate a commitment to protecting the environment
  • Purchasing is wholesale to reduce unnecessary packaging
  • Fresh and in season foods are predominately used
  • Where possible, all produce is sourced locally
  • Where practicable, refuse separation is implemented
  • We use refillable or returnable containers and are committed to recycling or reusing where appropriate
  • Use of waste compactors when space allows

While this list is not exhaustive, it presents a snapshot of the focus Kylemore has for the environment. Kylemore will continue to work with organisations like Greenstreets and Repak to ensure we are fully up to date and aware of our obligations and best practice in this area. We commit to ensuring all our employees will be provided with the correct resources and training to ensure this policy can be implemented and is pervasive. Our customers and clients will be made aware of our initiatives and we will encourage them to fully consider the environmental implications of their businesses and, where appropriate, we will seek their assistance to help us achieve our environmental goals.
