Fairtrade Commitment

1Kylemore has experienced a 38% growth of sales in coffee throughout Ireland in recent years. To reflect the growing coffee culture trends we would recommend an affordable coffee offer for the facility, offering freshly brewed filter coffee and tea with the options of cappuccinos and lattes. These products would also be offered as a ‘take away’ option. As a result of this increase in sales Kylemore decided that it would be our policy to ensure that the tea and coffee and any other relevant products we serve can also be made with Fair trade beans. Coffee is a punishingly difficult crop to harvest, yet the big brand buyers only pay a fraction of its real value – trapping coffee growing communities in a cycle of poverty and suffering. If you order a Fair trade coffee, you can break this cycle. All Fair trade coffee is bought at a fixed and fair price, from co-operatives and collectives who are committed to improving the lives of both farmers and the wider coffee growing community.
